Hello, and thank you for showing interest in my work.
I write under the pen name Asuka Li, which I chose for 'Far From Worry' and continue to use for the creative freedom it provides. I'm a British author originally from northern England, now in my late sixties and living in Hua Hin, Thailand.
Since 2004, I've called Southeast Asia home, living and working across Malaysia, Cambodia, Vietnam, and primarily Thailand. This region has become far more than just a place to live—it's fundamentally shaped how I see the world. Two decades here have given me perspectives that extend well beyond Western viewpoints, something I believe enriches my writing as we move deeper into what many call the "Asian century."
My experiences across these diverse cultures, from bustling cities to quiet coastal towns, inform the stories I tell and the characters I create. There's something profound about understanding a place not just as a visitor, but as someone who has built a life within its rhythms and traditions.
Writing has become my way of bridging worlds—bringing together the insights gained from a life lived between cultures, and sharing stories that might resonate with readers seeking something beyond the familiar.
If you'd like, you can contact me at asuka.li@tuta.com. While I can't promise quick replies I do read everything that comes my way.
Thank you for taking the time to learn a bit about the person behind the words.
